The following is a list of a few current projects for which Jones Associates, Inc. is providing services.

 Recent Projects


Developed a forest management plan for a 1400-acre woodlot located within the watershed of two public water supplies and continued management of this land. Responsible for all timber harvesting operations on this land.


Developed a forest management plan and managed approximately 1200-acres of land. As part of the management objectives, portions of this land will be restored to pitch pine barrens and the remaining land will be managed for timber production with the primary goal of protection to the wellheads.

At an additional site, JAI manages approximately 600-acres surrounding wellheads.


Developed a Stewardship Incentive Program Woodlot Management Plan for the Lewiston / Auburn Water Protection Commission’s Lake Auburn Watershed properties of approximately 1,183 acres. Work involved creation of a forest cover type map using recent aerial photography and field reconnaissance. A GIS coverage was also created to match to LAWPC’s existing GIS information.

Developed a detailed forest cover type map and GIS identifying stand types and significant wildlife habitats on approximately 29,880 acres.


Timber harvesting on a 160 acre parcel. Negotiated with The Nature Conservancy for the sale of a portion of the lot.


Prepared ten Stewardship Incentive Program (SIP) plans for clients to meet various goals and objectives.


Assessment of wetland impacts and necessary mitigation efforts at the town garage.


Wetland delineation and functional assessment on a 600-acre tract of land for proposed sewage treatment facility.


Supervised timber-harvesting operations on a 700-acre tract of land involving a resource protection district.


Wetland delineation and wetland mitigation procedures associated with corporate facilities expansion in Camden, Brunswick, Northport, Belfast, Rockland, Fort Kent, Presque Isle and Farmington.


MDEP Variance and NRPA permit process involving gravel extraction permits.


MDEP/NRPA permit process including wetland mitigation, ACOE 404 permit process, water level effect study, watershed management plan.


Locating underground storage tanks using GPS receiving equipment throughout seven counties.


Wetland delineation and NRPA permit for athletic facilities.


Development and implementation of a Forest Management Plan to protect 160 acres of forest land for a deer wintering area within a 250 acre parcel.


MDEP/NRPA permit process including wetland mitigation work which involves the construction of a 2 acre wetland.


Review of proposed natural gas pipe alignment and its effects on the environment.
